What a full, full month it has been. It seems that within just a few weeks of moving, I was on a plane back to Abq to test, help my mom get her store ready for the grand opening in just a week (read more about that exciting event here), catch up with my beautiful stepmom, Lisa, who just got home from the Mayo clinic in AZ, and get certified in eyelash extensions!
The state board test went well (as far as I can tell) and now I'm just waiting for the results to be mailed to me. Hopefully it all went as planned and I passed with flying colors - but you just never know. Pray for me people, I've started to have dreams about it, which is only a sign that I'm stressing about it - at least subconsciously.
My moms store, Je L'adore, is absolutely breathtaking. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. Her taste in all things french and beautiful is exquisite and I'm so proud of her for taking a risk and following her dreams. It's been a long time coming and I'm so convinced that her timing is perfect.
My dad and Lisa continue to amaze me. Despite everything they've walked through the past year and half, they are not only still standing, but they're standing strong. I love their relationship and the fact that they laugh together so much. Time with them is uplifting, and with people in their shoes you would think it would be the opposite. I was so happy I got to spend some time with them.
Eyelash extensions! Who knew? The lovely ladies at Lorencos Salon were gracious enough to accomodate my traveling schedule, and put on their entire certification class just for me. I learned so much and had a great time with the owners of Voguelash. I look forward to incorporating this service into my everyday work. It's so fun!
That's the latest and greatest in this little world of mine. It's crazy how much can happen in a week. let alone a month. And just think, it's only the beginning!
