Welp, my brain is mush.
I've pretty much been studying 24/7 (slight exaggeration there) for the written portion of my state board exam. (p.s. I also found out that I'm going to have to take the practical portion of my exam in March, i.e. fly back from OR to take the test. The bad is, we have to buy me a plane ticket to come back less than a month after me moving. The good news is, I get to see my family way sooner than any of us anticipated! Somehow, it always works out for good huh?) I seriously cannot see straight right now since I've been looking at a computer screen for most of the day. I can't believe that I'll be taking a test in just a few days that determines so much about my career - scratch that statement. This test does not determine the future of my career, that's already been decided. Worst case scenario - which is not even an option - is I fail and have to retake it when I'm back here in March. Anyway...
All that to say, sorry that it's been a few days since I've posted. And sorry that I've been quite the Debbie Downer the past few posts. Here a few gems from my week so far:
- Eric made it safe to Oregon! He is in our cute new house and is sending me lots and lots of pictures, making me more excited to be there! (downside - it makes me miss him a ton).
- My car, which was out of commission due to a broken clutch, is now fully functioning! I've taken it a in a few times (because if it's not one thing, it's another!) and I am so happy to say that it's ready for the trek across the U.S. and then some!
- I've been getting some serious quality time with my family. The superbowl with my dad, sis, and Alex. Family dinners with my mom and her husband. It's just so nice. I feel like I know our time is so limited and so these precious last moments with them in Abq are just that - so precious.
- Time alone. I can't remember the last time I had so much "me time". When I'm intentional about it, it is absolutely wonderful. Time to think, time to breathe, time to process. It's nice.
So there you have it, the past few days in a nutshell. Like I said, it always works out for the good.
