Sometimes the lighting is perfect, the mood is good, and Luca sits still long enough for me to get some pretty pictures.
We just returned from spending a week with my family in Albuquerque! It was a whirlwind of a trip, jam packed with great times and people I absolutely adore. I got to attend a dear friend's baby shower, celebrate my 31st birthday, go on a lovely breakfast date with Eric, as well as spend some much needed quality time with my precious fam! It was so incredible to see Luca fall in love with our family there (and vice versa). Here are a few pics:
On a spontaneous whim, the fam and I decided to drive to Eugene for the day. We stopped at Sahalie Falls on the way, then went to the Saturday Market (yummy food, some really cool handmade wares, and unbeatable people watching). Here's a little recap:
Eric left on a last minute business trip last Sunday, leaving just Luca and myself for 5 days and nights. The lengths I go to to entertain that girl are nothing short of hilarious, but 5 days straight of just mom trying to keep a teething 9 month old happy gets to be a bit...old. Needless to say, we spent a lot of time outside! I find I get some of the most beautiful pictures of Luca when I'm not trying too hard. So here are a few gems I took one afternoon, whilst trying to keep my daughter from losing it.
You're nine months old today! Man, they weren't kidding when they said it goes by fast.
I'm constantly amazed at how much you are growing, changing and learning everyday. And though these things are the natural progression of your first year of life (teething, speaking...etc) I'm just so proud of you for it all!
More and more your little personality is showing through, and I fall more in love with you everyday. As of now, you're a rule follower like your mama (thank you Jesus! haha!). When we tell you no to something, you typically listen - though you're not always happy about it, and that shows as clear as day on your face (you get that from me too). You're such an easy laugh which is something I just adore about you. You love to clap your hands. You clap when we say "yay!", you clap when you hear music or when I sing to you, and sometimes you clap just because it's fun! I think you like being the center of attention, which is surprising to me, because you're also content to sit quietly and observe. In fact, people watching is one of your favorite activities! I wonder how these things will continue to take shape? You are simply fascinating to me.
You've got one little tooth just starting to peek through. That's been a little rough on us all, but we're figuring it out and I can't wait until that tooth makes it's full debut in your beautiful, gummy smile.
Oh, Luca, I feel like I could keep writing on and on about all the sweet, wonderful, things that you do all day everyday, but I won't.
I love you my sweet girl. It's been an incredible nine months.
Please enjoy this impromptu photoshoot we had on our deck yesterday:
