Johnny Boy

by Lindsay Parnell

My fandom started around the age of 14.

I can't remember who first showed me his music, but I do remember that I basically never took that beautiful, burned CD out of my 1990 gold Honda Accord. I knew every word. For my 16th birthday, my dad, being the greatest, surprised me with tickets to see John Mayer at the Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre in Santa Fe, NM. It was one of the most memorable birthdays/nights ever, and one that we still talk about. (I LOVE YOU TAMBOURINE BOY!)

Well, fast forward 15 years and my wonderful husband surprised me with tickets to see him yet again for my birthday at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington! My mom stayed with Luca for the night while Eric and I hit the road!

We got a phone call a few days before leaving town saying that the tickets we purchased were no longer available for some reason (cue panic), and would we like two tickets front and center IN ROW 9?! Ummm, yes. Yes, we would.

You guys, it was unbelievable.

I got about a million videos which will probably be pretty boring to most of you, but I'm posting a couple here anyway because I want to 😂  (don't worry they're down at the bottom!).

Lake Day (Take II)

by Lindsay Parnell

My mom came to town for a visit and we headed to Scout Lake to show her a Central Oregon Summer day done right! The water was definitely warmer than our last lake day, but it was still pretty cold, and Luca was still not a fan (neither was I). Us girls prefer our swimming experiences to be comfortable! We sure enjoyed our time on the beach, though, (despite being bombarded by a thousand of the most brazen chipmunks ever. They literally walked right onto our blankets expecting food. No bueno.) soaking up the sun, and watching Eric swim!

Brasada Nights

by Lindsay Parnell

Earlier this month, Eric and I headed out to Brasada to celebrate the birthday of one of our dearest friends, Corey! The weather was perfect, the backdrop was absolutely breathtaking, and we were there during the golden hour which made everything so dreamy. Way too many selfies and videos were taken, but I'm pretty happy about that because the backdrop to them all was absolutely magical.

Demo Day! (kinda)

by Lindsay Parnell

There really wasn't a ton to demo in the little apartment, so I'm not sure it's fair to call it demo. I just really want to! We just needed to rip up that horrid green carpet and linoleum (hallelujah!) and tear down and a super weird built in shelving unit. It turned out to be pretty easy! Most of it was done within one afternoon, and there was only one injury. (Poor Eric stepped on a nail!)

The last two pictures are of Luca and I hanging out at the house while Eric is hard at work. She's such a champ!

So far redoing the adu has been pretty fun! (Says the girl who is watching her husband do most of the work - ha!)

Luca's First Lake Day

by Lindsay Parnell

We took Luca to Elk Lake a week or so ago. My girl loves to be outside, and the elements really don't seem to phase her (she is her father's daughter - I'm more of what you'd call "indoorsy"). The water was absolutely frigid and Luca was not a fan of having her little toes dipped in which you'll see below. But despite not really getting in the water, it was an absolute dream of a summer day.
